Breath of Fresh... tuesdays

Okay... today my co-worker and I decided this was "Slipper Tuesday".

 We took off the shoes and put on the comfy slippers.

It made the day soft and serene.

There are so many simple ways to make a Tuesday moment! So, think of something to brighten your or someone's Tuesday next week!

Remember... it only takes a moment to make a moment!

Breath of Fresh... sometimes

You just need a cupcake sometimes! And with the cupcake craze at its pinnacle it's easy to find a delicious variety nearby.

The beauty of a cupcake is that it satisfies that sweet tooth while keeping you from wasting or EATING an entire cake! Oh the simplicity of reasoning.

 

Another beauty of a cupcake is the simple fact that you can have several different flavors at once! Again, you don't have to waste whole cakes.  If you don't like a flavor here is my advice... Just eat the iced part and throw the rest away!

I realize this whole blog sounds like one big justification to eat a cupcake.  Well... it is! 

 

 Sometimes you just need a cupcake!!!

Breath of Fresh... tuesdays

It's Tuesday again... imagine that!! It's time to "take a moment and make a moment" on this day of endless possibilities! I didn't blog last Tuesday because of my hectic schedule so I'm not missing this one!!

Today is TURQUOISE TUESDAY!

Nothing big... just felt like wearing turquoise today.  So, I made it happen on my unbranded Tuesday!

What are you going to do next Tuesday? What am I going to do next Tuesday? I don't know.  It's an intriguing thought though!!!

Go ahead... next Tuesday "take a moment and make a moment"!!

Breath of Fresh... lighting

 Sometimes you just need a moment of soothing.  A moment to sit back, relax and take a deep breath.  Your home should have the ability to arrange such a moment.  One small detail to help make that happen is soft lighting, and a lamp is all you need!

 

There is just something about that amber glow that changes the whole atmosphere.  It's a warm and inviting way to end the day. 

  

Lamps come in a vast array of shapes and sizes, as well as prices.  Also, lamps are appropriate for most any room in your house... even the bathroom!

If you don't have lamps, and don't want to invest in them there is an alternative.  Christmas lights...

 

They give the same effect and can be hidden from view.  Christmas lights can give you up-lighting by placing them on top of furniture, mantles, book shelves, etc...

Soft lighting is an easy way to give your home a calm, de-stressed quality that gives you and your guests a calm, de-stressed moment.  So, why not take a moment to turn down the harsh light, turn on a lamp, slip into something comfy and take a relaxing breath.  After all, it only takes a moment to make a moment!

"What?!", you say.

"You must try!", I say.

There is something about the sweet and savory married together in your mouth.  My mouth is watering thinking about it!!! Here's what you do... take a piece of fried chicken, take a piece of waffle and dip it in syrup.  Now, chew slowly and enjoy all of that flavor.  It is divine!

Breath of Fresh... tuesdays

It's another Tuesday... the day un-branded... the day to "take a moment & make a moment"! Oh the possibilities...

My friend/co-worker and I didn't go too crazy, but we decided to make this Tuesday "break the rut day".  We have been bringing our lunch to work on a regular basis so we decided to go out today.  Nothing major, just a day to get out of the work place, take a deep breath and enjoy lunch in a different atmosphere!

It can be big or small, with a friend or alone, all day or just a few minutes.  Just try something new on any given Tuesday.  Make it your "taking a moment to make a moment" day!

Breath of Fresh... birthdays

Happy birthday to you... Happy birthday to you...

Here is an idea for a birthday celebration!

 

I just recently had a birthday adventure for some dear friends, and it's an idea that can be adapted for any occasion and any person.  This day was constructed around the personalities and likes of the guests of honor.  It was an all day event full of food, shopping, clues and fun! 

Here's how it went:

This party was hosted by 6 people.  We each gave money to the birthday girls as their gift from us, and we took them out to spend it!

To start, the ladies were each given a wallet with money in it.

Then they were given hints for each adventure of the day.

The first was simply,

Then we moved on to dessert... mmm... 

there's nothing like a cupcake!

On to a photo opp for our birthday girls! It's nice to capture a special moment to remember forever.

After the photo opp we moved on to shopping, AND we all needed to walk off all of the food we had just eaten! 

It still wasn't over though.  We had appetizers at one of our favorite restaurants, 

 grabbed some dessert to take home, and finished the birthday bash with games. 

Each part of the day was kept secret to add to the wonder.  It ended up being a blast for everyone involved.  It's nice to "take a moment to make a moment" for good friends.   After all, they are worth it! 

A couple more details: 

1. We made CD's of songs the ladies could enjoy during our drive.  2. Throw pillows were put in the back seat to make them that much more comfy.  3. Cold drinks (sparkling lemonade) were kept in a cooler.  4. Tote bags with party hats, hand sanitizer, gum and some fun candies were also given as fun extras.  Such fun in the details!!!
